JEE Mains 2015- Last Few Days Preparation

After the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams ends, the aspiring engineers from across the country will start gearing up and sweating out for their biggest test i.e the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Scheduled to be held on 4th April 2015 (offline), JEE is expected to be taken by about more than 18 lakh students in over 1500 centers across India and abroad.

The JEE is a three-hour test comprising of three sections namely physics, chemistry and mathematics. The syllabus of the exam has been taken from that of CBSE class 11th and 12th. Each subject comprises of 30 questions that are of objective type in nature (multiple choice with single correct answer). These questions carry 4 marks each. Students should be very careful as there is one-fourth negative marking for every wrong answer.

To solve the problems, try the obvious conventional methods first, say experts. If they don’t work out, try to understand the problem again and find tricks and clues that can help you solve the problem. Most of the JEE Mains books provide tricks and techniques of solving a question in multiple ways. Go through all the concepts related to the problem once again and see how they can be applied to the problem spontaneously. At times, you can even try to relate the problem to real-life situations as it will help you to analyse the question better. Refer to the solution, only when you have exhausted your number of limits. Practice similar problems many times, you will get a gist of solving such questions. Remember one thing doing 100 quality and concepts-based questions is more important and helpful than doing 1000 non-concept questions, therefore, select the questions carefully and then start preparing. Consult to past papers to know what kind of questions you can expect. Create your own shortcuts and ways to tackle particular kind of question.

Generally, paper 2 tests a student for visualizing three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings, visualizing different sides of a three dimensional object and also analytical reasoning and mental ability.

Nothing can give you a better understanding than solving previous year papers is the most important and required thing to do if you want to succeed in JEE Main 2015 exam. JEE Main 2015 books and sample papers will provide you an insight into the type of questions, marking scheme and time management. Solving these sample papers will give you an idea about how the questions will appear in actual exam
