Important Points to know About Bank Exams

The most demanded and promising jobs in India are said to be in Banks. There are more than 20 lakhs aspirant appearing for the exams conducted by IBPS, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), State Bank of India (SBI) and other private banks. On succeeding these exams, you may get jobs in SBI(and all associated banks),RBI, More than 20 Private Indian banks, 21 nationalised banks, selective foreign banks and many of small to medium co-operative banks banks like gramin banks at the clerical, Probationary Officer and Specialist officer levels. Banking jobs have always been lucrative especially during the slowdown of the economy.

Banking Entrance exam is normally divided into two parts: Objective Type and Descriptive Exam
Objective Type-


The objective type exam contains 200-250 questions that consists of Reasonong, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English, Computers and Marketing. If aspirants score more than 50% they may be called further for Interview.

Descriptive Exam- In order to evaluate the writing ability and communication skills, descriptive exam are conducted along with the objective type. It is a very important section as many of the banks use the marks of this exam to prepare merit list.

There are usually three questions in this section that can be asked from Reading Comprehension, Letter Writing, Precise Writing and Essay Writing.

Determine sectional weightage- It is important to identify your strengths and weaknesses. Design a good strategy to work harder on your weak points and keep practicing your strengths as they may fetch good marks for you.
