Medical Exam In India



Since the ancient times, Doctors have been known as saviors. Medical profession is considered as most respected and lucrative profession in India.

There are approximately 390 medical colleges in India with the entire capacity to train 51,979 Indian medical students each year at the under graduate level and about 24,196 students at the post graduate level. With the competition and number of medical aspirants increasing each year, students with solid preparation, and the capacity to handle pressure have a tendency to perform better in these medical entrance exams and get entry to a reputed medical college such as AIIMS, CMC, AFMC and many others.

The thought of Medical exams evolves the very first question of syllabus.  Although the syllabus for all the major medical entrance exams in India especially for the M.B.B.S programmes is similar. The AIPMT Syllabus as a reference point and be kept, it is the center point of all the medical entrance exams.

The preparation for medical entrance depends from ability of an individual, basically person to person but the beginning of class 11th is considered the best time to start preparing for the medical entrance exams because the syllabus for these exams is same as that of class 11th and 12th.
Medical Entrance Exam Basic Pattern
Medical question paper can be bilingual i.e in both Hindi and English.
These tests usually are either of one or two stages. If the test is of one stage then only a mains exam is conducted to execute the selection process, whereas if it is a two stage entrance test, then first a preliminary followed by mains exam is conducted to fulfill the purpose of selection.
The medical entrance exam basically consists of four subjects; these are Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge.
A typical pattern of the exam contains 200 objective and reasoning type questions; 60 each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The General Knowledge section include 20 questions, in order to check the aspirants general awareness.
Students who have completed their class 12 with science stream are eligible to apply for any medical entrance exams.

The objective type question constitute of 4 options of answers wherein you have to choose one right answer. Here, you have to be very careful as the wrong answers can fetch you negative marking. If you are not sure about any answer, we suggest you to skip that question. Hence, students must answer only those questions for which they are very specifically sure of the answer.
